Company looks to accelerate growth of combo stores to drive growth
In 2021, Dollar Tree announced that it would accelerating store growth and renovations, with plans to launch more combo stores that put its Dollar Tree and Family Dollar brands under one roof. The move came as the company has acknowledged substantial difficulties and costs with running the vast network of Family Dollar stores since its purchase in 2015, many of which are based in small, economically challenged, rural communities.
