The Children’s Place announces new environment, social and governance strategies and commitments
The Children’s Place Inc. (The Children’s Place) recently released its 2020 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report outlining the company’s ESG strategy. The company set forth science-based goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as increase the use of more sustainable raw materials. The Children’s Place is also attempting to reduce the use of water and chemicals in its global supply chain. Along with environmental goals, the company also stated its commitment to improving workforce diversity, equity in pay and opportunity, as well as giving back to communities. The company’s Board of Directors and its Committees have responsibility for ESG issues, which are informed by the Sustainability Account Standards Board, the Global Reporting Initiative and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
ESGIn response to volatile demand in the wake of the first COVID-19 surge, the company undertook a comprehensive cost reduction program, aimed at shoring up labor and supply costs.
