Albertsons Companies expands Own Brands portfolio with healthier options
Albertsons’ offers more than 13,000 products under their Own Brands portfolio and launched 1,200 new items in fiscal 2020. Their plant-based portfolio expanded to 56 items and their O Organics and Open Nature brands posted strong growth in fiscal 2020 as well. Albertsons is prioritizing product innovation and brand development, with plans to introduce 100 new items for these brands over the next year. As health consciousness shifts across the US and consumers demand fresher and cleaner ingredients, it is imperative supermarkets and grocery stores meet that demand in order to retain customers.
