GameStop expanded its fulfillment network with a new facility in York, Pennsylvania. The company entered into a lease in May 2021 of a 700,000 square foot fulfillment center to support ecommerce and fulfillment needs. This facility is anticipated to greatly expedite shipping across the east coast. More recently, the company continued the expansion with a new 530,000 square foot facility in Reno, Nevada, which will serve the west coast. The company has prioritized being able to get products to customers as fast as possible by strategically entering leases in different areas in order to serve as much of the US as possible.
StructuralIn response to volatile demand in the wake of the first COVID-19 surge, the company undertook a comprehensive cost reduction program, aimed at shoring up labor and supply costs.
